- What is eclecti-grass?
Our music comes from so many varied sources and inspirations we came up with eclecti-grass to include everything from Flatt & Scruggs to The Rolling Stones! Real "eclectic" huh? Back to Top
- How and When was Wires and Wood formed?
In the summer of 2001, Mark Mervis brought together three veterans of Bluegrass Music. Rick Barker, an original member of Appalachian Trail, Eric McMurray of The Scott County Boys and Moccasin Gap along with Tim Laughlin who has shared the stage with Larry Sparks, Doyle Lawson, Wayne Taylor and Ron Block. This collaboration formed the nucleus of Wires and Wood. Marked by an eclectic song mix and excellent instrumentation Wires and Wood brings their best to every performance. The addition of Randy Jackson in 2005 added a new dynamic in song selection and innovation. The Wires and Wood sound came together with the addition of Glen Harlow in September 2006. Glen brought a new dynamic, providing impecable rhythm chops and lead playing along with stage proven lead/harmony vocalization. Now in 2008 we have again hit the musical jackpot as Claiborne Woodall makes his presence felt immediately with captivating lead playing and a smooth vocal style. The band line-up is Mark Mervis (Bass, Vocals), Eric McMurray (Banjo, Vocals), Claiborne Woodall (Guitar, Vocals), Glen Harlow(Mandolin, Vocals), Randy Jackson (Fiddle, Vocals). As music lovers enjoy the Wires and Wood experience more and more people become a part of their growing fan base. Back to Top

We really enjoy traveling and playing for new audiences. We are based in Bristol TN/VA (The Birthplace of Country Music) and travel in approx. a 500 mile radius of Bristol. That takes us to the Eastern Seaboard, west to about Memphis, north into Michigan and south into Florida. You can check out our travel rates on the "schedule and rates" tab of the site.
